The Dancing Master - Julie Klassen

The Dancing Master
by Julie Klassen
Baker Publishing Group
Review by Rachel Dixon

Very good book!!!

This is the first book I have read by Julie Klassen. I found The Dancing Master to be intriguing, suspenseful, romantic and full of God's love and grace.

Alec Valcourt is a young dancing and fencing master that has moved to Devonshire with his mother and sister. Unbeknownst to him that there is an unspoken law that prohibits dancing. Julia Midwinter is a young woman stifled by her over protective mother, Amelia Midwinter. Despite the warnings he receives, Alec decides to open a dancing academy. Julia supports his decision in defiance of her mother's rule against dancing. Everyone seems to have secrets they are trying to hide, but slowly all is revealed. The past comes back to haunt our characters,
but in the end they are all brought closer together and are able to overcome their differences.

Set in England around the Pride & Prejudice era.

I would recommend this book to those who like period pieces, romance and a bit of suspenseful drama.
