★★★★★ - You have bewitched me, body and soul. (More Info)

About the Book
After spending her childhood as a street thief, Gabriella Goodhue thought she'd put her past behind her until a fellow resident at her boardinghouse is unjustly accused of theft. Using her old skills to prove her friend's innocence, Gabriella unexpectedly encounters Nicholas Quinn, the man she once considered her best friend--until he abandoned her.

After being taken under the wing of a professor who introduced him into society and named him as his heir, Nicholas is living far removed from his childhood life of crime. As a favor to a friend, Nicholas agrees to help clear the name of an innocent woman, never imagining he'd be reunited with the girl he thought lost to him forever.

As Gabriella and Nicholas are thrown together into one intrigue after another, their childhood affection grows into more, but their newfound feelings are tested when truths about their past are revealed and danger follows their every step. (From the publisher)

My Thoughts

Every time Jen Turano releases another book, I fall head over heels for it! To Steal a Heart was no exception. I always love the sweet romance, the hilarious antics, and the witty banter between the characters in a Turano book.

Gabe is a heroine like no other. From her skills as a thief to her loyalty to her friends, she is sure to become a dear friend. I thoroughly enjoyed her adventures and determination in life. When Nicholas joins her on the scene of an investigation, all the pain and trauma of being abandoned come flooding back. As time moves on, I was glad to find Nicholas and Gabe working through the past together and making their future what they wanted.

Both Nicholas and Gabe are faced with tough decisions throughout this story. I appreciated the fact that they made the best decision for themselves. Listening to their heart and conscience in the end (as well as the gentle nudging of God).

We are all faced with decisions every day. Some with long-term effects, some with short-term. If I learned nothing else this year, I have learned to carefully consider the benefits of each decision. Does this serve me? Will I grow from this? Will the sugar I eat now, make me feel miserable tonight? I encourage you to first, read this AMAZING story...AND...to go forward in life with purpose and intentionality each day. And be the best "YOU" you can be...TODAY.

I received a complimentary copy of To Steal a Heart from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

My Rating

★★★★★ - You have bewitched me, body and soul. (More Info)

About the Book
Lucy Clairmont's family treasured the magic of the past, and her childhood fascination with stories of the high seas led her to become a marine archaeologist. But when tragedy strikes, it's Dashel, an American forensic astronomer, and his knowledge of the stars that may help her unearth the truth behind the puzzle she's discovered in her family home.

Two hundred years earlier, the seeds of love are sown between a boy and a girl who spend their days playing in a secret sea cave, while the privileged young son of the estate looks on, wishing to join. As the children grow and war leads to unthinkable heartbreak, a story of love, betrayal, sacrifice, and redemption unfolds, held secret by the passage of time.

As Lucy and Dash journey to a mysterious old estate on the East Sussex coast, their search leads them to a community of souls and a long-hidden tale that may hold the answers--and the healing--they so desperately seek. (from Goodreads)

My Thoughts

Join Dash and Lucy as they discover home. Amanda Dykes brings the wonder of the heavens and the mysteries of the sea alive within the pages of this book. Pouring heart and soul into the very depths of this story, the author conveys a message of hope, life, love, and the truth that..."Anything is Possible."

A split time novel that jumps between present day and into the midst of the Napoleonic war in the early 1800s. You'll soon find yourself trying to figure out the connection beteven the two time lines late into the night. And once it hits you... you will be blown away! I loved every page, every character...

this entire story was brought to life in my mind from Page 1. The characters felt REAL, the "villains" believable...and there was a hearty dose of compassion and empathy that accompanied those feelings for these people.
Light and Dark...Hope and Despair...Home.

This story is filled with beautiful descriptions and exciting adventures. A truly beautiful story.

I received a copy of this book as partner of JustRead Tours, LLC. Being a publicity company, JustRead Tours, LLC received money to promote this book. However, this did not influence my review. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

Diamond in the Rough - American Heiresses Book 2 - Jen Turano

★★★★★ - You have bewitched me, body and soul. (More Info)

About the Book
When Miss Poppy Garrison accepts her grandmother's offer of financial help for her family in exchange for Poppy joining the New York social season, she quickly realizes she is far less equipped to mingle with the New York Four Hundred than even she knew. As she becomes embroiled in one hilarious fiasco after another, becoming the diamond of the first water her grandmother longs her to be looks more impossible by the day.

Reginald Blackburn, second son of a duke, is in New York to help his cousin find an American heiress who can help save his family's estate. But when his very proper British manners lead Poppy's grandmother to request he teach etiquette to Poppy, he quickly finds himself in for much more than he bargained for.

And while they couldn't be more opposite, Reginald and Poppy just might find they have more to teach each other than they ever could have expected. (from Goodreads)

My Thoughts

This is hands down my favorite book of Jen's to-date! (Is anyone keeping track of how many times I've said that?) Characters both charming and despicable...Predicaments both humorous and daring.

As the story weaves around Miss Poppy and her attempts at making a smooth transition into society...She gains an unwitting tutor in a very *ahem* dashing Englishman. While Reginald exhausts all avenues available to him to make Poppy a "Diamond of the first water" he conceals his true identity from Poppy.

I have never laughed so much! I kept waking up my husband from all my giggling! Jen Turano has such a unique voice and weaves a beautiful story with thrilling dynamics and a sweet romance.

And don't forget book 1 of this series, Flights of Fancy, I promise I read it...But my review is elsewhere in the bookish land, however, and not on my blog. 😉
