About the Book
International pop star Margo Hartman could use a night off. A grueling tour and overbearing entourage have sent her over the edge. It’s time for this diva to disappear. And who would think to look for the superstar in a small Dutch town in Ohio?
Sheriff’s deputy Brock Moore is undercover as well. He knows Margo isn’t who she appears to be, but her uncanny resemblance to a local Amish woman is raising all sorts of questions…the kind that make her a target for a killer.
Both are determined to find answers, but their mutual attraction stands in the way of either of them doing it alone. Is finding Margo the solution to Brock’s problems or just the beginning…?

My Thoughts
Jen Turano has taken a very bold step and is releasing her very first contemporary novel (all her books up to this point have been set in the Gilded Age). I am always nervous when an author switches genres, however, I feel that Jen made the transition very well. This book has a very different feel from her other books, which should be expected considering the setting. Yet Jen's classic style is embedded into every word.

When Margo has had enough of the drama revolving around her life, she runs off on her own. I don't blame her for just wanting room to breathe and think clearly for 5 minutes. It was fun to see how God's hand guided her to where she needed to be. God used the circumstances for His glory. And I can't help but be reminded how often the ideas that we have for our life, the paths we decide to walk down (or are dragged down kicking and screaming), God can take and use for His purpose, no matter how far away from home we get.

There is plenty of humour and mystery to be found while sprinkled with romance. Finding Margo is less about finding where Margo has run off too, and more about finding who she is. I am looking forward to seeing Jen's talent grow in this new genre.

I received a free copy of Finding Margo through NetGalley and from the publishers, Gilead Publishing. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

  2. It's really a toss up between historical and contemporary fiction, with maybe a slight edge to historical. I also really like mysteries. If there is some romance included, all the better!
