Surprise GIVEAWAY!!! + Blogger Organization Tips

Eeeeeep! Can I say that here? Because there is much squealing going on right now! I can not believe Bookworm Mama's Facebook page has reached 500 "likes"! Thank you to each of you for spreading the word and reading my posts. Because without YOU, I would not be doing what I love most...Reading and sharing my love of these books with all of you! So, as promised...I am hosting a very special giveaway! You may enter via the Rafflecopter form at the end of this post.

What am I giving away? Well, I will tell you! The items pictured   ------------>
(Not the typewriter, sorry, lol!)
I made a special key chain that says "Read" and "Dream" on it. I also made the polka-dotted bookmark. The back of it says "Read". Twinings Tea, four packets of Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla (my personal favorite). Sea Salt & Sand scented soy candle made by Pure Scents. I am also including winner's choice of ONE of my top 3 favorite books! Now, you are probably wondering which 3 those are...If you have been around my blog or Facebook for any amount of time...you will know that I ADORE Pepper Basham. (I also work for her, so I think that is a requirement.) So, The Thorn Keeper is one of the choices. It is book 2 in the series, but can stand alone. Read my review HERE.This is the book that caused me to create a brand new rating called "Heaven help me, you taste like Christmas." Next is Newton & Polly by Jody Hedlund. You can read my review HERE. And last but NOT least...The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof. Read my review HERE. The theme I was shooting for...Is that through reading, we can be anything, go anywhere...See the world from the comfort of our home. Someday I would like to travel more, but until then I will be the girl, "With a dreamy far off look and her nose stuck in a book."

But, before we get to the giveaway, I wanted to share a couple of organizational tips with you that I wish I knew when I first got into blogging. Thankfully, the wonderful Carrie from Reading is my SuperPower shared this incredible thing called Trello with me. She published a post a few months ago with some tips on how she uses Trello (you can read her article HERE). However, I have a few different quirks that I use, and thought it might be helpful to share another viewpoint with you.

I present to you...TRELLO...The reason I CAN be so organized in my crazy yet wonderful blogger life.

My organizational skills suck. So I have no tools 😂😂

Oh goodness, I wish I could claim a favorite organization tool. I pretty much just keep track of everything in my head. Occasionally I will make a list of ideas in a notebook which I keep by the computer.

Wow Rachel! So happy 55 likes! And I am super impressed with the Trello thing...it looks really complicated to me, far more complicated that my binder with pages.....can I hire you to teach me?

I love organizing! But I don't write blogs. Yet. I've thought about it but then wonder who would want to read it? lol Congratulations on reaching your first goal! Here's to the next 500.

THIS MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD!!!!! I love you!!!!

Rachel said...

Oh my goodness! My brain would explode! Can I let you in on a secret? I have a HORRIBLE memory...If I don't write something down...I forget it!

Winnie Thomas said...

I need to start using this! Don't tell Carrie that I still haven't got it figured out. I MUST try it. I'm super technologically challenged, though. I might have to take a trip to Washington to have you help me. My mother had awesome organizational skills, but they skipped a generation. LOL

Beth Erin said...

Great tips for Trello, Rachel!!! I love your programs board! I too have a hard time remembering things... shocking, right? LOL! While I do use Trello, Google Calendar is the one tool I CANNOT live without!

Anne Rightler said...

Congrats on the 500! As far as organizational tools I pretty much use my iPhone to help me stay on track. I put a note on the date I need to post a review and have it send me a notice a week and two days ahead. Of course appointments are on the calendar as well. Years ago (oh so many yrs ago!) I used to put my cleaning and menus on a paper calendar but who cleans or cooks now!! Thx for the blog info and the celebration giveaway!

Rachel said...

Haha! I can definitely help walk you through it!

Rachel said...

Two years ago when I started blogging I had NO idea anyone would actually even LIKE what I wrote! And here we are! YAY! You have to find something to write about that YOU are passionate about!

Rachel said...

Thank you so much Connie!

Rachel said...

Hehe I thought you might like that! Let me know if you have any questions!

Rachel said...

Hahaha! I would be happy to help you Winnie! I can walk you through stuff too!

Working with Pepper, I am learning the benefits of Google Calendar...But I never used it before haha!

Rachel said...

I am giggling over here...Housework? What is that? Haha! Thank you for joining the party!

I don't have a particular one that I use but Trello sounds like a great one!

I'm going to be honest I don't know what I'm commenting on lol sorry girl! Grocery shopping with 3 kids got my brain in a fuzzy state. Hahah! Love you!

Hahahaha! Nooooo worries! You DID it!

Rachel said...

It is so easy! And PRETTY COLORS!!!

I think this is a great organizational tool and this is the first time I have ever heard of it. Usually i use a large lined notebook to write my reviews in and it also lets me know if I have read a book. I also have a couple of sheets to write the books I want to read. This idea is great

I have no favorite :( I use excel for our personal budget but it hasn't worked well for me for books. This is the second time I've read about Trello so I obviously need to try it!

Susanne Mincer said...

Does searching Pinterest on how to organize count?! LOL Congrats on 500!!

Becky said...

I really like to use the Memo app that came with my phone. That's where I make my errand and grocery lists. Thanks for the giveaway! :)

Janet W. Ferguson said...

Congrats on 500 likes!! I'm impressed with the organizational system!

Janet W. Ferguson said...

Um, I forgot to say I don't have an organizational tool other than my email where I sent myself tasks, my refrigerator calendar, my day planner. I'm so old school :(

Fiction Aficionado said...

I so need to check that out! I have Trello on my iPad but it doesn't look anywhere near that good. Maybe I need to use it online? Anyway, I've just been using Word tables and good old Microsoft Outlook calendar. Yours looks much nicer 😊

Shantelle Mary said...

I've actually never tried any organizational tools ... but maybe I should, haha!

Rachel said...

I started with paper, moved to Google Sheets, but Trello is so easy to customize and organize. I love it!

Rachel said...

I tried Google Sheets for books for a while. THAT was a headache! SO glad Carrie introduced me to Trello!

Rachel said...

SURE! Why not?

Rachel said...

Oooh yes! I started using the Keep app from Google on my phone for grocery lists.

Rachel said...

Hey! You use what works for you! ;)

Rachel said...

Haha thank you! Yes, you should try it on the desktop. It does have an app that I use on my phone, but there are certain aspects that are unavailable on the app. So I mostly use that to jot down a book or note before I forget it! Haha!

Rachel said...

I didn't always use any tools. But once I started reading more, I NEEDED something to keep my brain from exploding lol!

Kay Garrett said...

The only organizational tool I have is my never ending "lists". As long as the list don't get lost, all is well. :) I do have a sort of cross reference system that I designed for myself that makes sure that nothing gets really lost or not done but don't think I could explain it to someone else. Let's just say it works for me. LOL

Lisa Redecop said...

I hardly ever use any organizational tools, but this looks amazing.

Megan Besing said...

Just put 'learn more about trella' on my to do list...again. Maybe this time I'll actually get to it. #wheredoestimego #mighthavemoretimeifihadtrello

Rachel said...

If it works...IT WORKS!!! Haha! I love it!

Megan Yeager said...

I haven't written any book blogs (and I'm not organized in any way), but I use Weebly for my regular blog. I love the simplicity.

Jennifer Rannings said...

Congrats on the 500 likes!
I am a list maker and I prefer using paper and my fountain pens so I use a system called Bullet Journaling (Google it, there is tons of info but start with the basics from Ryder Carroll) and my Happy Planner.

Raechel said...

I've never actually used much of an organizational tool site...I have a small planner for blog post schedule, but sometimes I forget to update it. ^.^
Thank you for the giveaway!

abakersperspective said...

I'll admit, I am very anti electronic when it comes to organization. I know, odd pov from a blogger, I'm just old school. Have a calendar where I write down all my post due dates. But it's not ideal, because it doesn't have a checklist. I just put book title and who I'm reviewing for. This program looks very inticing. In fact, I just may give it a shot......check back later to see if I've become a believer

I wish I had some organization in my life

Paula said...

I try to keep my books organized by keeping two loose leaf notebooks-- handwritten- of favorite authors and their books in order of publication. I also use goodreads. I don't blog just comment on blogs or author's sites.
Would love to win one if the books!

agboss said...

Actually, I don't have a favorite organization site, but you have given me some great tips! Thanks, Rachel, and also for the opportunity of this FANTASTIC giveaway!!

Rachel said...

Oooooooh! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Rachel said...

Haha...let's not discuss the other aspects of my life, outside of blogging ha!

Rachel said...

Oh that is a good idea! I started using an app called Book Catalog to keep track of the books I own and if I have read them and my rating. Goodreads is also very helpful!

Rachel said...

Oh my pleasure! Thanks for dropping by Alison!

Rachel said...

Thank you Dianne! lol no worries ;) Thanks for stopping by!

I'm not organized at all so don't use too many physical products at all. Maybe that's the problem. 🤔 I recently downloaded the free iPhone app Alarmed and that's helped for remembering some events

Amanda Geaney said...

Do post-it notes count? If so, my tools come in a variety of colors and sizes. :)

Kim hansen said...

Use no apps just put things on shelves hidden away.

Vickie Jameson said...

I have never used an organization tool/site, but I definitely plan to check them out after reading your post. I rely on an old-fashioned hand-written list. Thanks for the chance to win.

Hehe YES! I love post-its! However, my children like to steal them!

I'm not sure where my comment went! I use Goodreads a lot. But need a planner or calendar to help me better organize reviews!

Sydney Anderson said...

I have also been trying out Trello. It has been working well so far. I also put all my reviews in my phone and keep track of my books on Goodreads. :)

Buffy Scott said...

My Happy Planner by far is my favorite organization tool. As you know I live by the motto "If you have to do it, make it beautiful." Since I have to plan & organize I make it beautiful because I won't use it if I don't.

I've used Trello before, and Evernote, Google Drive, Outlook, One Note, my iPhone but I'm a paper & pen woman! I have just recently learned of the wonder of RocketBook Wave notebooks and I love them! Basically it's a pen & paper system that you can upload to the cyberworld & then erase the notebook and reuse. It's incredible for note taking at school.

My favourite way to stay organized is with pen and paper. Old-fashioned, I know. I've tried different digital organizers, but nothing satisfies me like writing everything out.

Becky Smith said...

I have never used an organizational tool, so I have no favorite. However, I do have a
Word file of the books I have read & my reviews, so I can look at them quickly. And I have a list of books, organized with the books I have pre-ordered, the books that I agreed to review or beta read, and the order of the books I want to read. My TBR list is long!!!

Amanda T. said...

I've never heard of Trello before. I still stick with paper and pencil. ;) Though some of my music students gave me an organizer for Christmas. That has been so good! I don't think I'll go another year without one. :)

Susan Dyer said...

I have never heard of this before. I just use various notebooks! Lol

Organizational tools? I guess we could all use some of those but I don't use any particular ones. Unless you call Goodreads an organizational tool. I do find it useful to keep track of what I've read or to use if I find a particularly interesting book that I might want to read in the future I will add it there.

Pretty much just the "wish list" on Amazon.

Rachel said...

Oh very nice!

Rachel said...

I am a very disorganized person. I try to organize everything so I can find it but I still end up searching for it. The only thing I have organized are my bills ( and my brothers, as take care of them for him. I like your blog on trying to be organized I will have to try it to see if it works for me

Rachel said...

Hey that is a VERY important thing to keep organized! Thanks for stopping by!

Kathleen Denly said...

So far I've been using a separate (heavily color-coded) Google Calendar just for keeping my tasks and deadlines straight, but it isn't a perfect fit for everything I need to keep track of. I'll definitely be checking out Trello! Thanks for the tips!

Rachel said...

I think my favorite feature in trello is the checklist! That way I never miss anything!
