Surprise GIVEAWAY!!! + Blogger Organization Tips

Saturday, March 25, 2017

Eeeeeep! Can I say that here? Because there is much squealing going on right now! I can not believe Bookworm Mama's Facebook page has reached 500 "likes"! Thank you to each of you for spreading the word and reading my posts. Because without YOU, I would not be doing what I love most...Reading and sharing my love of these books with all of you! So, as promised...I am hosting a very special giveaway! You may enter via the Rafflecopter form at the end of this post.

What am I giving away? Well, I will tell you! The items pictured   ------------>
(Not the typewriter, sorry, lol!)
I made a special key chain that says "Read" and "Dream" on it. I also made the polka-dotted bookmark. The back of it says "Read". Twinings Tea, four packets of Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla (my personal favorite). Sea Salt & Sand scented soy candle made by Pure Scents. I am also including winner's choice of ONE of my top 3 favorite books! Now, you are probably wondering which 3 those are...If you have been around my blog or Facebook for any amount of time...you will know that I ADORE Pepper Basham. (I also work for her, so I think that is a requirement.) So, The Thorn Keeper is one of the choices. It is book 2 in the series, but can stand alone. Read my review HERE.This is the book that caused me to create a brand new rating called "Heaven help me, you taste like Christmas." Next is Newton & Polly by Jody Hedlund. You can read my review HERE. And last but NOT least...The Lady and the Lionheart by Joanne Bischof. Read my review HERE. The theme I was shooting for...Is that through reading, we can be anything, go anywhere...See the world from the comfort of our home. Someday I would like to travel more, but until then I will be the girl, "With a dreamy far off look and her nose stuck in a book."

But, before we get to the giveaway, I wanted to share a couple of organizational tips with you that I wish I knew when I first got into blogging. Thankfully, the wonderful Carrie from Reading is my SuperPower shared this incredible thing called Trello with me. She published a post a few months ago with some tips on how she uses Trello (you can read her article HERE). However, I have a few different quirks that I use, and thought it might be helpful to share another viewpoint with you.

I present to you...TRELLO...The reason I CAN be so organized in my crazy yet wonderful blogger life.

  2. Oh goodness, I wish I could claim a favorite organization tool. I pretty much just keep track of everything in my head. Occasionally I will make a list of ideas in a notebook which I keep by the computer.

  9. Congrats on the 500! As far as organizational tools I pretty much use my iPhone to help me stay on track. I put a note on the date I need to post a review and have it send me a notice a week and two days ahead. Of course appointments are on the calendar as well. Years ago (oh so many yrs ago!) I used to put my cleaning and menus on a paper calendar but who cleans or cooks now!! Thx for the blog info and the celebration giveaway!

  12. I think this is a great organizational tool and this is the first time I have ever heard of it. Usually i use a large lined notebook to write my reviews in and it also lets me know if I have read a book. I also have a couple of sheets to write the books I want to read. This idea is great

  18. I so need to check that out! I have Trello on my iPad but it doesn't look anywhere near that good. Maybe I need to use it online? Anyway, I've just been using Word tables and good old Microsoft Outlook calendar. Yours looks much nicer 😊

    1. Haha thank you! Yes, you should try it on the desktop. It does have an app that I use on my phone, but there are certain aspects that are unavailable on the app. So I mostly use that to jot down a book or note before I forget it! Haha!

  20. The only organizational tool I have is my never ending "lists". As long as the list don't get lost, all is well. :) I do have a sort of cross reference system that I designed for myself that makes sure that nothing gets really lost or not done but don't think I could explain it to someone else. Let's just say it works for me. LOL

I am a list maker and I prefer using paper and my fountain pens so I use a system called Bullet Journaling (Google it, there is tons of info but start with the basics from Ryder Carroll) and my Happy Planner.

  26. I'll admit, I am very anti electronic when it comes to organization. I know, odd pov from a blogger, I'm just old school. Have a calendar where I write down all my post due dates. But it's not ideal, because it doesn't have a checklist. I just put book title and who I'm reviewing for. This program looks very inticing. In fact, I just may give it a shot......check back later to see if I've become a believer

  40. My Happy Planner by far is my favorite organization tool. As you know I live by the motto "If you have to do it, make it beautiful." Since I have to plan & organize I make it beautiful because I won't use it if I don't.

I've used Trello before, and Evernote, Google Drive, Outlook, One Note, my iPhone but I'm a paper & pen woman! I have just recently learned of the wonder of RocketBook Wave notebooks and I love them! Basically it's a pen & paper system that you can upload to the cyberworld & then erase the notebook and reuse. It's incredible for note taking at school.

  43. My favourite way to stay organized is with pen and paper. Old-fashioned, I know. I've tried different digital organizers, but nothing satisfies me like writing everything out.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have never used an organizational tool, so I have no favorite. However, I do have a
Word file of the books I have read & my reviews, so I can look at them quickly. And I have a list of books, organized with the books I have pre-ordered, the books that I agreed to review or beta read, and the order of the books I want to read. My TBR list is long!!!

  45. I've never heard of Trello before. I still stick with paper and pencil. ;) Though some of my music students gave me an organizer for Christmas. That has been so good! I don't think I'll go another year without one. :)

I do find it useful to keep track of what I've read or to use if I find a particularly interesting book that I might want to read in the future I will add it there.
