Happy Friday!
Mary Connealy's new series is HERE!!! Woohoo!!!! Another beautiful cover! SWOON!
Today’s first line is from...
Southwest of Lake Tahoe, Nevada
October 1867
Deborah Harkness came awake with a snap, her hand already steady on the six-gun under her pillow.
Cowboys and Humor....what more could you ask for?

“Bonjour, Mimi!” Heather Holmes, a lanky blonde in her forties with huge, wide eyes and long, curly tresses, breezed into Bistro Rousseau. She screeched to a halt. “Whoa!”

Ohhhhhh I love this!
DeleteGoodness me! There seem to be a lot of guns in the first lines this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm featuring the first line from 'Dancing in the Rain' by Eileen Rife and Jennifer Slattery on my blog today, but I'm currently up to chapter eleven, so here's the first line from chapter eleven:
"Nervous energy filled Loni's stomach as her plane made its descent into Blountville, Tennessee."
Hehe!
Delete"It ain't right. You ain't right." The first 2 lines from Captured Bride by Michelle Griep. It's the next book in my TBR pile. Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on this book!
DeleteI recently finished Accidental Guardian as well. I enjoyed it! Have a great weekend Rachel.

YAY!!!
DeleteHappy Friday!😊
ReplyDeleteMy FLF comes from a book I will be reading soon, My Heart Belongs in Niagra Falls New York by Amanda Barratt.
As the coachman loaded her trunk onto the carriage, nausea churned in Adele’s stomach.
Have a great weekend and happy reading!😀
I have heard a lot of good things about this series!
DeleteMy first line is from The Captured Bride by Michelle Griep from the Mayflower Brides series.
ReplyDeleteThis from Chapter 18.
Night faded like a bruise, the predawn darkness lightening in increments from black to indigo, painting the world in deep blue.
Michelle certainly has a lyrical way with words. This book is not unlike Last of the Mohicans only much more readable than Cooper!
Popular book this week! Thanks for sharing! <3
DeleteThe Accidental Guardian is on my list of books to read, but I'm so behind. The opening line hooks me as a reader and I love the cover. I finished The Doctor's Lady by Jody Hedlund and tackling Laura Frantz's The Colonel's Lady. Have a nice weekend :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm sharing on my blog this week is Unblemished by Sara Ella but it's also the book I'm currently reading so I'll share the first line from chapter 4 here: "The expression on El's face before the wall closed was all the proof I required." Hope you have a happy Memorial Day weekend! :)
I've seen this one quite a bit lately. I am not much into cowboys (does that make me super un-American? Probably) but the plot is interesting. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday and Memorial Day weekend!
