A Heart's Revolution - Roseanna M. White

My Rating
★★★★★ - You have bewitched me, body and soul. (More Info)

About the Book

In 1783 peace has been declared, but war still rages in the heart of Lark Benton.

Never did Lark think she’d want to escape Emerson Fielding, the man she’s loved all her life. But when he betrays her, she flees Williamsburg for Annapolis, taking refuge in the nation’s temporary capital. There Lark throws herself into a new circle of friends who force her to examine all she believes.

Emerson follows, determined to reclaim his betrothed. Surprised when she refuses to return with him, he realizes that in this new nation he has come to call his own, duty is no longer enough. He must learn to open his heart and soul to something greater—before he loses all he should have been fighting to hold.

(Previously published as Love Finds You in Annapolis, Maryland)

My Thoughts

A Heart's Revolution begins right after the American Revolution has ended. But the turmoil raging in Lark's heart has only just begun.

Raised to be the very model of a "proper" young woman, Lark has had to suppress the REAL Lark for far too long. Emerson is a cad and I honestly couldn't stand him for most of the book. BUT, he is a perfect example of what love and forgiveness (and a little nudging from God) can turn a person into.

I was so proud of Lark. Her determination to be who God created her to be. Granted it took some serious circumstances to pull it out of her, but once she realised WHO she wanted to be and WHAT she wanted in life...there was no stopping her! And there is no going back.

Filled with historical figures, lovable supporting characters, loyal families, swoon-worthy romance, and trust and faith in God...You will be swept away by this story.

I received a complimentary copy of A Heart's Revolution from the author. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.

About the Author

Roseanna M. White is a bestselling, Christy Award nominated author who has long claimed that words are the air she breathes. When not writing fiction, she’s homeschooling her two kids, editing, designing book covers, and pretending her house will clean itself. Roseanna is the author of a slew of historical novels that span several continents and thousands of years. Spies and war and mayhem always seem to find their way into her books…to offset her real life, which is blessedly ordinary.
