Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, but...I am going off script this week. In the last year, I have become severely addicted to audiobooks. Listen while I cook...Do dishes...Fold laundry...Clean...(Cooking can be dangerous if it's an intense part of the book haha!) But I can not describe the sorrow of finding out a book that I want to listen to...isn't on audiobook. So...Here is a list of books that I ADORE and wish that they were on audio so that I can listen to them on repeat! Some of these are just the first books of a series. And some...all books by the author NEED to be on audio!
Do you listen to audiobooks? When is your favorite time to listen to them?
I don't listen to audiobooks. For some reason I can never focus on them and end up having to read the book anyway! I'm glad you get on with them so well though. :-)
ReplyDeleteI used to be this way! Until I needed to read a ridiculous amount of books (for me) in a SHORT period of time....Now I love them!
DeleteOh good twist on the topic! There are several I keep waiting for -- like The Vanishing Season for one-- that don't seem to be on the horizon like ever! I like listening to them on my way to and from work, makes the commute okay.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes! I get car sick if I read so audio books are my new best friends for road trips lol
DeleteI've only started listening fairly recently since I have a short window of time when all of my children are at school/preschool. (Kid noise and interruptions make it tough!) I listen in the car, on walks, and occasionally while doing dishes or waiting for my youngest kids to fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteI get that! YES! Walks!
DeleteI've never listened to an audio book. With my kids around, it isn't very practical for me. Too much noise to focus! I'm glad you enjoy them though. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday
ReplyDeleteHaha...Totally understand! Usually I wait for their quiet time!
Deleteyesssssss I agree!
ReplyDeleteThanks friend!
DeleteI'm not really an audio book reader, but last summer I did listen to "Jane of Austin" on audio, and loved it. Then earlier this year, I posted listened to Becky Wade's "Then Came You" and ohmygoodness! It was so good. :) So who knows! Perhaps I'll listen to a few more audios now and then.
ReplyDeleteOMG! You have to try The Lady and the Lionheart! FABULOUS!!!
DeleteI love listening to audio books in the kitchen! And on long car rides when traffic is not bad (don't want to be a distracted driver). There are so many books that need to be on audio. There are some books that I listen to over and over as I'm falling asleep. I know the story so well that when I fall asleep, I dream the story. It's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOoooh that is fabulous!!!! Yes, I am planning on re-reading some books this year via audio! So.Much.Love!
DeleteUm yes. I love audio books. I'm so glad that I suddenly realized that they don't have to be JUST for long roadtrips. Now I like to have one going on for all my driving since most of my drives are 15-30 minutes. Of course, I could read faster myself, but I'm just so happy to finally read in the car again (like when I was a kid).
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! I don't like sacrificing reading time for housework or errands, but now I can do both muahaha!
DeleteI love listening to audiobooks, especially when driving for 30 minutes or more. Another good time to listen is when I am knitting or stitching. Listening to an audiobook helps me concentrate on my handwork without having it seem too repetitive.
ReplyDeleteYES!!!! So great!
DeleteRachel, I love audiobooks! I listen while working in the kitchen, the garden, or power walking. Thanks for including Not By Sight on this great list, too! 😊
ReplyDeleteGardening...YES! I admit...I have a BROWN thumb....But I am good at pulling weeds hahaha!
